Carmen-Smith Hydroelectric Project

The Carmen-Smith Project diverts the flow of the McKenzie River from Carmen Resevoir to Smith Resevoir. The water is stored and then released to provide peak use electrical generation.

Travel Time Chart

This graphic provides the travel time (in minutes) between major landmarks along the McKenzie River between Hendrick's Bridge and Clear Lake.

Museum of Natural History

The Tale of Two Rivers project was awarded a federal grant from the Institute of Museum Services to develop a prototype exhibit for the Natural History Museum. Teams from each participating school learned about museum displays, nature photography, etc. and designed the exhibit. Click here to see more information about the museum grant class.
